Here’s a little round-up of some recent summer outfits.

denim & a cropped, boxy t-shirt

I paired these outfits here because they both have a similar vibe, and not just because they feature the same light purple boxy tee. The lavender color of the t-shirt pairs gently with the blues of the denim, and both outfits are kept casual with tennis shoes.

refashioned plaid print cropped tank & raw hem high-waisted shorts

I refashioned this plaid quilt print crop top from an old skirt a few years ago. I self-drafted it based off a tank top I liked the shape of. It’s comfy, easy, and lightweight for summer.

striped ringer tee and a handmade linen skirt

I made this skirt using some linen fabric I had leftover after making this Jazz Ready To Sew Romper, using this skirt drafting tutorial from Anne Elizabeth Made and this slash pocket tutorial from Helen’s Closet (and yes, the Winslow Culottes are on my list). I like a simple skirt style that I can dress up or down. It looks good with a t-shirt tucked in, like the striped ringer tee in this outfit, or a dressier top. And I’m all about versatility with my wardrobe items.

crocheted muscle tee and paperbag waist shorts

I’m glad I’ve gotten more wear out of this top lately. It’s crocheted with linen yarn and has gotten more drapey and softer with more wears and washes, as linen yarn does. It’s a longer length, not cropped, and that works great for tucking into high-waisted shorts, skirts, etc. You can see more of the details on this crocheted top here. (But note I do not currently have any plans to release a pattern.)
