What I Would Wear: Valentine’s Day Outfit Inspiration

My husband and I have never been big on Valentine’s Day. In the past few years, we’ve used it as an excuse for date night if any grandparents want to watch our kid for a bit. This year, we obviously didn’t do any big date nights, and in fact were both really tired, with headaches, so we dressed for comfort instead of a holiday.

But, if we had dressed up or gone somewhere (like in “normal” times), I might have worn this outfit. The pink of the leggings, and the long-sleeved tee, especially, lean a bit close to hot pink for me, but they’re both comfy and great layering items in my wardrobe, both gifted. Just to note, the leggings are showing up a bit more pink than they are in real life. I think pairing them and the tee amps up the pink.

I do love these little checkered socks, also a handmedown, with the leggings and boots. The whole outfit has a real 90s vibe that I’m into.

Making it a bit more cold-weather friendly with a longline cardigan and my Joanie Beanie (pattern available here).

Do you typically do anything for Valentine’s Day? My son’s school had the virtual kids bring in valentines, organized them out amongst all the kids’ bags, and quarantined them for a few days before we could go pick them up. I thought that was a sweet way for them to give the kids a bit of normalcy.
