Ways To Wear: Burnt Orange Button-Up Tie-Front Cardigan

Today, I have another “ways to wear” post for you (you can catch my last one here)! This is just a simple little one styling a burnt orange button up cardigan, that can also be tied at the front. This cardigan has become a favorite wardrobe item of mine, and there are many variations of the outfits I’m sharing today that could be easily made if you own something similar.

1. Casual

Above, I’m keeping it really simple, but it’s a favorite look. Button fly high-waisted jeans with a tee tucked in and the cardigan thrown on unbuttoned. This cardigan is really soft and has a waffle texture, so it makes for an easy cozy layer. Paired with some tennis shoes to keep it casual and momlife friendly.

2. Buttoned and Tied With Boots

I’ll be honest, I like the look of this from the front, but the knot is bulky enough that from the side I feel like it emphasizes my mom pooch in a way I’d rather not. But on we go. Overall the look is nice and pairing it with boots dresses it up just slightly.

3. Tucked Into Skirt

Here, I’ve switched out the jeans for a skirt and am using the cardigan as a top by itself. I’ve tucked it into the high-waisted skirt and cuffed the sleeves. You could easily add tights or leggings to make this outfit more cold weather appropriate.

4. Skirt With Flats

This turned out to be my favorite look of the post. I love the pops of color and how the yellow of the shoes ties in with the necklace pendant. Adding flats certainly dressed up the outfit a bit, and I love the vintage fifties vibes.

And that’s it! As I mentioned, you could easily create variations of any of these outfits using items from your own wardrobe, like pairing flats with the first look instead of tennis shoes, or trying a pencil skirt for looks 3 and 4 instead. These examples are just a springboard.
