I feel like even though a lot of the projects I’m working on are moving slower than I expected or have wound up on the backburner while my son is out of school for the summer, I’ve still made progress with a few projects that have turned out/are turning out well. The first of these being the top pictures above.

I made this cropped tank from the fabric of an old skirt, which before that was a dress. This patchwork plaid was super popular back when I was in high school. If you’re around my age, you probably remember all the bermuda shorts back in the fabric’s heyday.

I do have a few process pics for this, so I might do a fuller project post at some point.

Next up, I’ve been working on this cropped pullover pattern. I’m aiming to have the sample finished and the pattern edited and graded by the end of this month (fingers crossed, since I’m a stay at home mom who’s son doesn’t nap anymore, work things can get a little challenging sometimes).

I’ve progressed a bit more since this picture and most of the embroidery is done, panels and sleeves are all seamed together, and I’m working on the ribbed sleeve cuffs at the moment.

If you’re interested in testing this pattern, keep an eye out around the end of this month/beginning of August. Keep in mind that the embroidery will be a required part of testing.

Next up is something I’m really pleased with. I worked out a design for this crochet tool pouch and this is the first go. It features two full pockets and some divided sections for hooks or pencils, as well as a patch of felt to use as a needle keeper.

I always love the look of tool rolls and bigger pouches, but know that when I take a project on the go I just take what I need for that pattern. I don’t need a big pouch or roll for all my tools, especially since I have a different system for storing them at home. This little pouch is something I could easily throw into a backpack or project bag.

I’m planning to make more and may eventually have them for sale in my shop here, so keep an eye out if you’re interested.
