a week(ish) of outfits from before the end of winter
A little while back, I made an attempt at getting into a regular routine of documenting my daily outfits. I love following Instagram accounts and blogs that do the same, and it’s something I’d like to do more regularly. It mostly went well, but was followed with a big upheaval of routine that immediately got me out of the habit again. (Nothing to worry about, good things, just routine-disrupting). I shared reels of a couple of these outfits at the time (or maybe just one?) which you can see on my Instagram here, but I honetly forgot about the pictures until emptying my SD card the other day.
These outfits are nothing special, other than that they’re worn for the life of a stay-at-home, work-from-home mom who’s also been doing virtual school for the last two years. I mainly seek comfort out of my day-to-day outfits.
Anyway, if you’re interested, here they are.
1. layers and mustard yellow
The most “outfit-y” outfit here. The collared mustard yellow top is sleeveless, so I layered it with THE SOFTEST cropped cream-colored sweater. I paired it with some of my favorite jeans for my post-baby having, pear-shaped frame. I love the little floral print details. Finished off with pattern mixing some mauve and faded maroon-ish colored plaid socks and some white and mustard yellow slip-on flats.
2. paperbag waist denim jeans
These jeans are from Target, and I actually got a pair in their thin stripe, tickertape colorway first. I liked the fit so much – elastic, waist, high-rise fit, pockets that you can actually fit things in – that I went ahead and got a second pair. A note if you like these jeans and go looking for them, I would have probably been fine with the next size down, but I wanted a more loose, easygoing fit. I love high-waisted anything, and like how easy it is to pair these paperbag waist jeans with tanks, sweaters, and a simple tee, like here.
3. the real everyday ootd
This outfit is an actual, typical everyday at home outfit for me. I’ve mentioned before that I like to buy items that fit my lifestyle, which right now is a work-at-home freelance artist, stay-at-home mom who likes to be comfortable. So I try to find cozy garments like sweatpants and t-shirts that can be worn at home, but have something extra, like a pretty floral print or some cute stripes.
4. stripes and longline cardigan
You can see that I re-wear a lot of items throughout the weeks. My outfits sort of ebb and flow. Here are the same paperbag, high-waisted jeans and striped socks from a couple of the previous outfits. This one is cozy and comfy. These jeans are a great addition to my personal wardrobe because they’re denim and look more “put together” than just sweats or joggers, but the loose fit, elastic waist, and soft (for denim) fabric make them sooo comfy. I don’t ever really feel like I’m wearing jeans when I wear them.
PS: You can see more ootds over on my Instagram, and I’ve also slowly started a Tiktok account where I feature outfit of the days, too.
