I recently participated in this years #100dayproject. You can find out more about it here.

My personal challenge was 100 Days of Sketching Something. I had thought about doing a daily drawing challenge off and on for a while, but always decided not to since I knew I wouldn’t be able to make a completed piece each day. “Sketching something” meant I could give a lot of time to a piece one day, or only do something quick. I could also do a little bit on a larger piece several days in a row.

I shared every day on my art Instagram, here. The orignial plan for this account was to share finished work, or work that I was satisfied with, every now and again, and it will go back to that now that the project is done.

Here are a few favorites:

This was a fun way to build up shading and detail with pencil without using a solid inked outline. I might use this style for backgrounds in the future.

Again trying out an un-inked, unlined pencil style. I did several of these little teacups.

This one is probably my favorite. It’s a digital illustration. I really, really like this style – it’s a bit grainy and has a retro illustration feel to me. I’d like to continue with my figure/fashion drawing going in this direction. Just figuring out how, now.
