My birthday was March 23th, and my husband and I had plans to hang out in a local downtown area for the day. The weather didn’t allow us, however, so we took a raincheck and spent the day hanging out with some friends instead. This past Sunday we made it up. As you can see by the photos, it was a pretty windy day, but the sun was out, so it was nice to walk around and see the city.

If you can’t tell by the photos, I always wear shorts under a dress or skirt – or rather, an old pair of leggings cut off and folded up – and it was certainly a wonderful decision this day. haha

The bracelets are a little experiment that I quite like. They are simply made of leather and mercerized cotton crochet thread.

This dress may just be one of my favorites. I love the whole high-low thing, but this is the first dress I’ve had that actually has that hemline. It was available in this color and a light pink, but I was drawn to this one first and chose it because I love the earthiness of it and the fact that it’s a color I could accent with pretty much any other color.

Though I usually take the pictures myself, my husband helped some with these. We had a fun day eating lunch and then walking around, me scouting for good picture-taking locations and him playing Ingress on his phone, a neat game that utilizes local landmarks, churches, historical sites, and artwork. It was nice to finally have a somewhat warm day to be out in.
