Waters Wears: Easy Summer

Sometimes, you get a piece of clothing, and when you wear it, you realize how you love it. This top is one of those pieces.

From Motherhood Maternity, I ordered it when they were having an online clearance sale. Right now, I’m trying to get maternity items that will fit me until the end of my pregnancy. I ordered this in a medium based on Motherhood’s sizing chart, but almost got a large, since I had never gotten any tops from them before and was worried a medium might be too small to wear all the way through these last few months. But the size medium is fine, with plenty of space and length to grow into! On top of that, it’s comfortable, and I’ll probably wear it because of that after the baby is here, too.

I know I wear this necklace and ring a lot lately, but the necklace pendant has always been a favorite of mine, and I’m just on a kick of wearing this ring lately. Maybe part of it has to do with the fact that I can’t wear my wedding band right now due to swelling and my husband bought me this ring, so it’s kind of a compromise, I don’t know.

I also love wearing this style of tennis shoes with about anything. Although they don’t have a lot of support.

This outfit is just an easy summer style – really laidback, really comfortable and cool for the heat.

Spring Green

A quick confession of sorts – I originally wore this outfit a few weeks ago, when the belly was a bit smaller, but didn’t have time to get pictures then. I’m getting pictures now because it’s a type of outfit that I should be able to recreate with various pieces throughout my pregnancy. Basically a skirt with the waist positioned as an empire waist; above the belly, with a tank top or shirt underneath.

Other than that, I was really pleasantly surprised with how the color combinations of this particular outfit wound up; the colors in the floral skirt seem to make the light green of the shirt pop, and all the colors compliment each other really well.

Long, gathered skirts, it’s no surprise, work really well over a growing belly, as they give room and length, and so can be worn even as weeks progress and the belly gets bigger and bigger. And it’s a plus that it allows me to be able to wear a skirt, and probably some shirts, that I already had before being pregnant.

The weather has been pretty hot here most days, with blocks of heavy thunderstorms in between. Hope the weather has been kind wherever you are!

Long Lost Outfit

So I was pregnant in these pictures, but I didn’t know it yet. ;) These pictures never got uploaded back then, but I really liked this outfit, so I figured I’d go ahead and post them now.

My husband got me this ring from a cool booth at a local Highlands festival a few years ago. I wish I could remember their company name, but I can’t.

Hope you have a beautiful day!

Waters Wears: Peach And Plaid

We’ve finally had some fall weather around here the past few weeks. I knew it was coming because I have feet that get cold ridiculously easily when the weather’s even a bit cool, and I’ve been having to wear socks on the regular. It’s been nice to be able to wear pants and layers again, but I’m at least hoping we have more of a fall than we have in recent years and that the extremely cold winter they’re predicting takes a little while to come around.

Most of the time, if I’m out and about, I can get away with going sockless if I’m wearing shoes like these, at least for now. This day, though, we were going to some friends’ house where I knew I’d be taking my shoes off to lounge around, so the socks were a must. I kinda’ dig the look, though.

I got this shirt marked down for $7.00. It’s really soft, and I love the colors and sheer panel at the front. I love layering in the fall so I knew it would be cool for that, but also nice for random warmer days.

Most of the time I try to post outfits I wear that I’ve either made or mended a part of, but this one had none of that. However, later that day, I noticed that the seam on one of the tiers of the shirt had broken, so that’ll have to be fixed. Haha, oh well.

Hope you guys are enjoying the weather where you are, no matter what it’s like. Have a good day, and God bless!

Found Around

Some neat and inspiring things I have found around the internet recently –

This gorgeous high low dress crocheted by Ashlee Elle of Dream In Vintage. I’ve shared her work before here. Her designs are so creative and inspiring, please go take a look.

These Fashionary sketches using flowers and watercolor by Grace Ciao. So beautiful.

This tutorial for a floral table runner from Jes + Em. These girls are from the southern United States like me, and I think it’s safe to say everyone around here is rejoicing that warm weather and new blooms have finally arrived, minus the pollen, of course. This is such a beautiful project and so well-executed. It would be great for a wedding or spring party, or just to have in your home as a happy reminder that the long winter is over and new life is beginning!

Hope these inspire you. Happy day, everyone. God bless!
